AXIS ESPORTS – WEEK IN REVIEW (8 – 14 July 2019)

It has been a fairly busy weekend for us at Axis Esports, with huge achievements as well as participation in huge events. Let us recap on what happened in our roster for the past weekend:

PUBG Mobile National Championships (PUBG Mobile)

Our team, Axis.MPX, fought for two days at Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur for the Top 4 spot that will ensure qualification for the PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) Fall Split SEA League 2019. in Bangkok, Thailand. The team earned their spot in PMNC 2019 via the Selangor Qualifier to be amongst the 12 qualified teams who joined the four invited teams for this Malaysian main event, which offers a RM114,000 prize pool.

Unfortunately, they were hard done by with a 9th placed finish after all rounds have been played. But to reach the finals of this tough competition with more and more stronger players and teams entering the scene, is a huge achievement in itself. Congratulations and keep training till you earn the title!

Challenger Summit Final Playoffs (Mobile Legends)

Following the recent triumph of our very own Axis Bosskurr at the Joes X KBS League in Melaka, they put their skills to the real test in the Challenger Summit Finals, organized by Global ROGS, commentated by three Malaysian commentators, AddMaths, The Hound and Karakuri. This international tournament has a RM50,000 prize pool split for everyone.

The first day went well at the start, but mixed results saw Axis Bosskurr finished Third in Group B, which sends them to Lower Bracket Round 1 where they will face a daunting task against the loser of Bren Esports vs Reborn.

Second day comes, and Axis Bosskurr met Bren Esports after the Group A winners lost their Best of 3 game against Reborn in Round 1 of the Upper Bracket. Bosskurr fought hard, but just came up short, losing 0-2 to Bren, who eventually end the tournament as Champions.

Congratulations to Axis Bosskurr after a Top 8 finish in the competition! Keep on training en route to MPL Season 4!

The Star Supa Comic (Mobile Legends)

While Bosskurr fought online, our Axis Rogue team went to fight on LAN! They joined The Star Supa Comic at Mid Valley Megamall last weekend which gives out a total prize pool of RM30,000. They need to play a qualifier to join the eight invited teams in the main bracket. Rogue were placed in Group A of the qualifiers.

Rogue, starred by three talented females, started well in the tournament, before being forced to go to the Lower Bracket of Group A, losing against FAMILIT.

They tried to march on from Lower Bracket Round 1, with two round wins before had to bow out of the competition to ChampaGodz, who went all the way to get into the main bracket as the top two teams from Group A.

They have shown promise, and the only way for Team Rogue is up after this tournament. Expect them!

Support our Axis Esports team in their journey to greater heights in the future!
